Coldwell Banker Hosts 5th Annual St. Patrick's Day Golf Tournament for CASA

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Orange County Community Foundation and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) joined together for their 5th Annual Coldwell Banker Orange County Company St. Patrick's Day Golf Tournament. The event took place on Monday, March 17th with a shotgun start at noon.

After raising nearly $26,000 last year, the Coldwell Banker Community Foundation of Orange County and CASA of Orange County are again teaming up to benefit severely abused and neglected children entering the Orange County foster system.

More than 3,000 severely abused, neglected and abandoned children overfill the Orange County foster care system on any given day. CASA of Orange County is a nonprofit organization that trains community volunteers to serve as powerful mentors and advocates for these children. The volunteers work with the children to create a healthy and positive relationship and to help them deal with the emotional and psychological effects of a painful childhood.

Ryan Lu, his brother Marc and two family friends Ryan and Kolin Ozonian played a superior game and shot a 17 under par round of 55. This score landed them 1st place, only beating the second place team by one stroke.

Kolin Ozonian also won the long drive competition with a long drive of about 315 yards.

Move On Up to an Orange County High-Rise

By: Tom Iovenitti, President of Colwell Banker Residential Brokerage Orange County

The dawn of high-rise living is flourishing in Orange County, and evidence suggest that this trend is on the rise.

James Hoppe, Architect and Coldwell Banker Irvine sales associate, spoke about some of the latest local towers. The Plaza Irvine was completed last year and its sister building, 3000 The Plaza Irvine, is set to finish around August 2008. The Marquee at Park Place is made up of two towers, each protected by 24-hour security. Most of the condominiums include two bedrooms and two parking spaces, along with all the modern amenities homebuyers expect. Price for a unit in 18-story building begin at $625k and tower to $1.9M.

The Plaza Irvine and 3000 The Plaza also have 24-hour security, along with message areas, fitness centers, steam rooms, five-day concierge and more. The Plaza Irvine also has gorgeous two story penthouse condominiums available on the 15th floor. Price start at around $900K and reach upwards to $4M.

Ryan Lu of Coldwell Banker Newport Beach Coast Highway spoke about the Astoria at Central Park West (CPW) and the Skyline at MacArthur Place. It's hard not to be enticed by the community being built within CPW. The complex includes two buildings (one at 14 stories, the other at 15), four  parks and is built next to a retail and grocery shopping center. The Skyline at MacArthur Place features two 25-story towers. Both complexes are located near the 405 freeway, and retail and business districts.

The tower condominiums make great second home investments, requiring far less maintenance than a detached residence. They also make great homes for busy professionals, are close to John Wayne and easy access to the 405 freeway. Residents are just a ten-minute drive away from Newport Beach, Angels Stadium, the Honda Center, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, South Coast Plaza and more.

Luxurious, lofty living has come to some of the most desirable addresses in Orange County.
